Hout Bay is Home

I developed an interest in natural building materials and design after catching a glimpse of Val and Judy's beautiful cob house at Beaverlac in 1998. Soon after we bought land in Hout Bay and built an organically-shaped cottage designed by Etienne Bruwer.

In 2006 we started designing a relatively sustainable, passive-solar home. I took sabbatical in 2007 and completed the build over an 18 month period.
